Dr.N.KOTTISWARAN obtained his B.E (Civil Engineering) from Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore in the year 1992 and M.E (Structural Engineering) from P.S.G. College of Technology, Coimbatore. He has been awarded Doctoral Degree by Bharathiar University, Coimbatore for his thesis entitled "Study on Strength and behaviour of thin walled cold formed steel-concrete composite beams under flexure and shear", registered at Government College of Technology, Coimbatore.

He has over seventeen years of teaching experience at UG and PG level and guided a number of projects in Structural Engineering and published / presented many articles in Journals / conferences.

He acted as a member of Board of studies of Civil Engineering and a doctoral committee member of Civil Engineering of Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore.

He is an approved supervisor for guiding Ph.D. research scholars in Civil / Structural Engineering.

He is known among the students community for his popular books "Engineering Mechanics" and "Basic Civil and Mechanical Engineering".
