The department of Mechanical Engineering has grown by leaps and bounds right from its inception with the primary objective of providing world-class education. From the very beginning, the Department has been offering excellent infrastructure facilities to meet the burgeoning demands of the industry. The department offers excellent academic environment with highly motivated faculty that inspires the students to develop their technical skills. The departments have consistently served as the genesis of engineers of excellent caliber in the field of mechanical engineering for five decades.

The Department is Established in 2004. The Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering is a 4 year course. The Department offers separate block with spacious class rooms, Conference and seminar hall for guest lectures. The students have access to state of the all laboratories and workshops, which enable them to face the challenging needs of the industries and research institutions. The students are provided enough opportunities to specialize in the areas of CAD, CAM, and MECHATRONICS etc.

The department offers value added courses apart from the regular subjects which enable the students acquire marketable skills. The value added courses offered are Pro-E, ANSYS, IDEAS, CATIA, UGNX, HYPERWORKS, AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop (MDT), Master CAM, Edge CAM VR-TURN, and MAT LAB.

It has 9 Laboratories and a workshop for imparting practical training to the students. These Laboratories and Workshop will help students to undertake project works, design and build machines and equipments.

DEPARTMENT LIBRARY

The department Library has 750 titles and 2500 volumes of books apart from the main library. In addition, leading Technical journals and magazines are also available in the library.

TEACHING AIDS

Apart from the traditional teaching methods, the classes are conducted with multimedia projector and OHPs.

INDUSTRY - INSTITUTION INTERACTION

The Department gives Regular In-plant Training (IPT) to students to improve their skills. Industrial Visits are conducted during winter and summer vacations. Seminars and classes by Guest lectures and workshops by experts from industries are arranged by the department to improve the students industrial skills as well as practical knowledge.
