The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in 2001-2002. The department offers a UG degree program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with an annual intake of 90 students. The Department offers its programmes at a separate block with spacious class rooms, Lectures, seminars, laboratory classes and tutorials form a large part of in-college academic activity. The Department imparts quality education to its students, in modern lecture rooms, Conference and seminar hall equipped with appropriate teaching aids.

In order to strengthen the practical knowledge for the theoretical background studied by the students various laboratories are available at their disposal. A fully equipped computer center with latest softwares has been established.

The Department has been constantly modernizing the infrastructure and laboratory facilities. Office Automation with a true Intranet environment is being set up to aid much of the course material management. The Department is endowed with well equipped laboratories in several of the areas. In laboratories, students experiment with the latest technologies, which help them in kindling their latest skills. The available laboratories and facilities include:

In order to improve the academic performance of the students, Daily test and internal assessment test are being conducted. The progress of the students is being monitored periodically and the performance of the student is being intimated to their parents through post in time.

FACULTY

A senior professor heads the department with specialization in Power electronics and drives. Highly qualified and diligent faculty members to help the students to explore in their quest for knowledge supports the department. All the teaching staff members are having P.G degree with different specializations, among them many are doing Ph.D. in reputed university.

DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES

Department frequently arrange Seminars / Training courses expert lecturers on advanced topics like 'FPGA', ' Power quality', etc.,

One of our student Mr.S.Venugopal had secured 47 th rank in Anna university-Chennai out of 9499 students.

The department also conducts mini project competition during our symposium to exhibit the students practical strength.

The students are encouraged to participate in State and National level symposia, extra curricular activities and conferences. They have won many prizes in the above said activities.

Due to quality academic standard of the Department, the students of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering program have been consistently performing well and securing good marks in University examinations. Thus the result and the placement of the Department is increasing every year.

The Industrial visit enables the students come Face to Face with the challenges of an industrial environment and update themselves on various technical activities.

DEPARTMENT LIBRARY

The department Library has 1000 titles and 4000 volumes of books apart from the main library. In addition, leading Technical journals and magazines are also available in the library.
